Nimish Metals, based in Safat, Kuwait, is a reputable company offering high-grade metal products along with precision engineering solutions. Its strong commitment towards excellence has placed the company to provide a large range of materials suited to all the industries in need. Its top offerings are High-Speed Steel M42 Bars, which can exhibit exceptional hardness, wear resistance, and superlative cutting ability. These bars are good for high-performance applications like tooling, cutting, and machining. With extensive experience in industry, Nimish Metals is committed to providing reliable, durable, and efficient metal products to support varied manufacturing needs.
High-Speed Steel M42 Bars consist of about 1.05% Carbon, 4.0% Molybdenum, 8.0% Cobalt, 2.0% Vanadium, and 1.0% Tungsten. With small quantities of Chromium and Manganese, the composition is particularly suitable for M42 to provide for the ultimate hardness and wear resistance. For cutting tools and industrial fields, this has been demonstrated to be optimal. The mechanical properties include a high Rockwell hardness of 68-70 HRC, good toughness, and also provides excellent resistance to thermal softening at elevated temperatures. M42 retains excellent edge retention even under high-stress conditions, providing superior performance in demanding machining tasks. Its strength and durability make it a preferred choice in high-performance tooling.

Yes, High-Speed Steel M42 can be welded, but it requires specialized techniques like preheating, post-weld heat treatment, and using appropriate filler materials to avoid cracking and maintain its properties.
Yes, High Speed Steel M42 bars are recyclable. They can be melted and reused in manufacturing, reducing waste and conserving resources, making them an environmentally friendly material choice.
High-Speed Steel M42 bars should be stored in a dry, cool environment, protected from moisture and corrosion. Ensure they are placed on clean, stable surfaces to prevent damage and maintain quality.
HSS M42 bars are used for the manufacturing of cutting tools like drills, end mills, and saw blades because of their exceptional hardness, wear resistance, and heat resistance. The cobalt content in M42 improves red-hardness, meaning that the tool remains sharp at elevated temperatures, which makes it ideal for high-speed machining and metalworking applications. These bars are further used in die, mold, and tap making, especially when high toughness along with durability is required for heavy duty applications. Such resistance to wear and thermal damage makes M42 a popular steel alloy in applications like aerospace, automotive, and tool-making industries.

We provide products that come with both mill test certificates and third-party test certificates, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
